The concept for what now exists as the Waste Gasification / Thermal Oxidation (WG/TO) system was born in the United States mid-west in 1986. In response to the ever-increasing number of landfills that were being closed because of various pollution and environmental contamination problems, a small group of engineers, fabricators and businessmen set out to find a technological, non-incineration alternative to small community municipal and medical waste disposal which would be environmentally acceptable and cost competitive with the landfill method.
This technology has successfully passed the most restrictive environmental air emission monitoring and residual ash quality tests, as prescribed by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the European Economic Union.
Systems of various sizes have been installed and successfully operated from the far North of Alaska to the Southern tropics of the Malaysian peninsula. Current installations are in progress throughout the world. IET is currently working on contracts of various sizes up to 1,500 tons per day.
IET prides itself on finding environmentally sound, efficient and economical solutions to today's waste disposal problems.
